Whoo Hoo!!

I'm so happy! Four of my five entries into the Dogwood Arts Festival Photo Show were accepted! Yay!! I had been hoping to continue my trend of doubling my accepted entries. In 2004 I got one entry in the show. In 2005 I got two entries in the show. And this year I got four! And my percentage went up to 80%.

So if you find yourself in Knoxville the show will be on exhibit from Thursday, April 13th through Saturday, April 22nd at TVA's West Tower, 400 West Summit Hill Drive, downtown Knoxville. The Tower will not be open on Easter weekend, April 15th and 16th.

There is a Preview Reception (open to public) on Wednesday, April 12, 6:00-8:00 pm at the TVA West Tower.

Here is the rejected picture (Computer Enhanced/Special Effects catagory):

"Charity" This is a modified version of my 6 of Orbs tarot card. Now I'm thinking that for the purposes of the photo show I should have cropped it so that there was less clutter in the background. But for the tarot cards the background is important for the meaning of the card.

(I tried to upload the accepted entries but blogger isn't cooperating right now. I'll try again later.)

Bitchin pic! And That's totally inspirational...for other reasons. I've wanted to do that kind of stuff for a while and haven't found the time. Do you have to submit a large printed version, or do you submit digitally and then they print it for display? How does that work?

mr g, thanks! I really like that one, but I can see why it wasn't accepted into the photo show. Yes, for Dogwoods Arts Festival you have to submit printed, framed photos for the show and sometimes my digital compositions lose something in the printing. But I'm learning how to get the prints to come out better. Some shows do accept digital files and then print them for you, but I haven't had much luck with them.
