Tell Me Where To Go

Well, here's your chance to tell me exactly where to go. David has finally seen that I do indeed need a vacation or my head will explode. He suggested the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. That would be a really nice long weekend. My ultimate destination of choice would be Green Valley Spa in St. George, UT, but that one is probably too far away and too expensive to push my luck of getting to go anywhere. So if anyone knows of any really cool places to visit that are within a day's drive of Knoxville and has more than camping style accomodations then please leave a comment with suggestions. No roughing it please! This is for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and I don't like roughing it. And it would be nice to go somewhere different, somewhere that's not familiar (like Biltmore in NC , it's lovely and nice but been there, done that). Thanks!

Graceland? Sorry, just the first lame thing that I thought of... was going for a laugh more than anything.

sam, that's a good suggestion. I haven't been there is a long time, but I feel insecure going to Memphis by myself (it's so big).

I'm not familiar with the area, but just popped in to say hi!

You're going by yourself?

Hell. Its a good start.

sierrabella, yeah, noone else can take time off work to go with me.

anonymous, been there, done that too. You're not so clever. But you are a coward.

If Utah is too far, perhaps there is a spa closer. I googled Tennessee spa and several came up. Don't know anything about them, but it's a start.

Or maybe a bed and breakfast would fit the bill. Sometimes its nice to just have the kids out of the way for a day or two, and spend time alone with the one we care about. I bet you might even be able to find one with clothing optional if you look hard enough. ;-)

dh, yeah, those are good ideas, but I want to go somewhere with new scenery, you know. And I'll most likely be traveling alone because no one else can take time from work. A romantic bed and breakfast by myself doesn't sound all that great. The thing about the spa is the massages, etc. And they do have a pool where you can go skinny dipping.

I will have to think, especially where it involves driving instead of flying....now as familar with that area...NC would be my suggestion so far. I did go there back early summer for 2 weeks to Lake Norman, "The Point" outside of Charlotte.

Your reasons are the same as mine. I am considering this paid airplane ticket I have in front of me NOW for Philly on the 28th for a few days, but so much is going on...I may not go....but I definitely need it in the worst kind of way!

Jill went too, for a weekend retreat (same reasons too) but hers was in CA for mediation, and she posted today how refreshed and happy she was.

Will check back...let me think!!

Well, personally I love fall in the Smokeys. Not to mention all the outlet malls in pigeon forge. lol
The rates have probably dropped a bit by this time too!

awg, I've always wanted to go to Hot Springs. Maybe this is the time. Thanks!

suzie, you should go on your trip. A change of scenery can really lift the spirits.

kat, if push comes to shove I guess I could run off to Gatlinburg and get a nice room with a jacuzzi. I might even let David come too!

I thought about you all night, and it came to me CHARLESTON,NC! Not sure if you have ever been there, I haven't been - have definitely wanted to along with Savannah, GA.

Perhaps because I love history and both have many historical sites.
Please keep us informed (smiling)on what you decide...sounds like a wonderful idea and I feel you need it...and will come back refreshed.

With raising my children, I had to escape at least every 6 wks or 2 months...if for a long weekend or a longer getaway...to try to keep me half sane and happy for them! (smiling)Go for it...and do not feel guilty rule number ONE!!!

If you would like a babysitting/housecleaning vacation, I'm just up 75 in SW Ohio! Funny, I keep offering this vacation and no one takes me up!

suzie, I think I'm going to do the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. I haven't really seen much of Kentucky, and I'm wanting to go somewhere new. Charleston, SC sounds great, but maybe not during the hurricane season. I have been to Savannah a long time ago.

kristi, give me a little while and I might have the babylust enough to want to babysit for a week!
