Sometimes "Why" Isn't Enough

To the families who have lost children in the school shootings of the last week, I send my deepest sympathy. It's beyond me why a man who is angry at the world would go into a school and shoot little girls, specifically little girls. What kind of coward targets little girls? The pain these families are feeling is just unimaginable. Losing a child is a parent's worst nightmare. It breaks my heart to think about the lost dreams and hopes of these parents and children. And really, there is no 'reason' that could ever justify it, or even explain it.

Even with all the reasons and his "logic" laid bare we still wouldn't understand why a situation like this takes place. The only thing we can do is use it as leverage against our apathy of life. Take times like these to reflect on who and what is important to you is all I can ever suggest. As for the parents, I wouldn't even know what to say or do. There really is nothing other than to offer consolation, which comes in an unending tide that is unfelt at the time.

HEre's what blows my mind. He's a father and even lamented about losing his young daughter! Yet he could do this to other people's children! Amazing.....
