I think that title is a good subsequent one, and I'll like the way it looks on the sidebar. ;-)
It is HOT here, as it usually is in August. Yesterday was 94 and today it is 95 and tomorrow is supposed to reach 97 and then Friday is supposed to reach 95. But no, it's definitely not a sign of any kind of global warming or climate change. We have hot times in the summer, usually in July and August. Seven years ago when my youngest was born, it was 96 (Aug. 6).
Well, whether or not it is remembered as normal by everyone, it's still miserable and worthy of complaint. Just like the aches I get every month. ;-)
Anyway, school starts tomorrow. Wow, this summer has flown way too fast, and it's the first time I haven't been really ready for school to start. It could have something to do with the kids being old enough now for us to really enjoy being together. And we've had a really fun summer.
But something else really bothers me about this starting school in early August. It makes no economical sense in any way. Here we are at the peak of the hot weather and TVA is bitching about record power demand. How much sense does it really make to go and start school at that time and add even more stress to the power system? Knox County has a lot of schools and that means a lot of air conditioning. There should be at least another month of summer break or we might really cause some global warming! ;-)

Nuts! After the sex post, I saw the title of this one and thought we were in for a little more of the same. Imagine my disappointment. ;-)
Sorry the summer's flown by on you. I know what you mean about the kids growing up. And, unfortunately, as we grow older, the time seems to pass all the more quickly. Enjoy them while you can.
Here it's humid. Un-be-liev-able. The second I stepped out of the plane my hair curled up.
Related to your recent comment: If you were God for one day, what would you do?
dh, lol, sorry, sometimes I'm a tease. ;-)
Hi Bee! Wow, that's a cool question. Thanks. I think being God and being a dictator are different. Dictators only think they have control. ;-)
I would need a whole week to be God. ;-) Or at least 3. :-)
I guess most people would expect God to come and make many big signs and miracles happen, but maybe God knows that there would still be people who wouldn't believe no matter what signs and miracles do happen. Part of me, if I could be God for one day, wants to say that I'd make many big signs and miracles happen. It would probably be pretty fun to do that.
But is it really Godly to spend your only day just having fun? The bigger part of me wants to say, "No, it would be Godly to take that one day and do something to improve the world." Just performing signs and miracles of my own choosing (pleasure) would be too much like a dictator trying to force something on everyone.
A more Godly way would be to give more freedom to those who don't have it. And God would know that freedom allows for making more mistakes and would offer ways for people to live with and learn from those more frequent errors. But God would also know that some people wouldn't realize that their freedom was coming from God and that they were just using their freedom to deny or be skeptical. But God wouldn't take away everyone's freedom just because some people use theirs differently.
Anyway, here are some things I'd probably do that might improve the world, or not, and they might or might not be considered signs and miracles. ;-)
First, I'd have the genitals of all pedophiles shrivel up and fall off.
Second, I'd provide enough free energy for the entire world to live as modern lifestyles as they want.
Third, similar to the pedophiles, I'd sterilize all the people with unrehabilitateable criminal intentions because their only purpose in life is to abuse freedom at the expense of others.
Well, that's all I can think of and now my seven year old is hungry! ;-)
It's interesting that your first reaction is to castrate pedophiles. No argument here.
Not that anybody asked, but if I were God for a day, I think I might give everybody the ability to achieve their heart's desire. Then, I'd end it (for good) for those whose heart's desire involves hurting others. And the other six days, I'd rest. lol
Hi Rae Ann:
Thanks for your interesting thoughts on that! I guess I'd vote for you as God-for-one-day ;-) I'd like to make people more receptible for other people's pain and happiness. Best,
B.
