Did you know?

(this is from a forwarded email)

As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments.

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments.

There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.

Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law. An oligarchy .... the rule of few over many.

How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and un-Constitutional?

No kidding...I don't have a problem with the 10 commandments posted anywhere. You don't have to be a christian to figure out they make sense.

I think it is a wonderful reminder!
Your question keeps baffling me too.

mike, yeah, it is a historical document in relation to the history of law. People get their panties in a wad over it though.

suzie, me too!

Btw, how is your cold? Hope you are feeling better. Forgot to mention that and about the multicellular...w/all the other stuff going on. I moved up and was shocked. Just signed up for it a couple weeks ago.

suzie, my cold is better now but my stomach isn't feeling good now. If it's not one thing it's another. I'm not usually this sickly! Maybe it was all that devolving. I don't know what happened with that one. My technorati ranking went up. Maybe they just don't like me at TTLB. lol

I say it's because GW didn't appoint you. Not my fault - I campaigned for you even though I'm a liberal Democrat!
